Hitchin 'Supper Club' serves up a treat

23 Feb 2009

On Wednesday 18th February the Sun Hotel on Sun Street, Hitchin, played host to the first Hitchin & Harpenden Liberal Democrats' Supper Club. Dave Ravel, Liberal Democrat candidate for Hackney South & Shoreditch, was invited along as our guest speaker.

While the local party and our candidates are gearing up for the Hertfordshire county council elections in June, this Supper Club showed that we've certainly got organising lavish social events down to a tee!

Hitchin Liberal Democrats' Branch Secretary Tony Read said "We had an absolutely splendid time here. The Sun Hotel is an excellent venue for such occasions. The Chef excelled himself and we were very well looked after by the staff. I would like to thank Tony Freeman for organising such a truly pleasant evening."

Dave Ravel is not only one of the top 40 football referees in London, he also knows a thing or two about low carbon technologies

In his speech Dave Ravel spoke about the work of the Carbon Trust and particularly on the assistance being given to small and medium sized businesses to develop equipment and services which reduce carbon emissions.

This was the first of many local Liberal Democrat social events in 2009. If you would like to attend future Supper Club's please contact Tony Freeman or email the local party through this website.
