Hitchin Town Hall - March 2012

The saga of this major asset of the town, that has been neglected and run down by the Conservative-run Council, continues to drag on. In the past the Council has failed to support the work being done to bring our Town Hall up to modern day standards.

Lib Dem Councillors on North Herts District Council remain fully supportive of the project put together by the Community to bring the facility back up to standard. This follows the mismanagement by the Conservative administration. We will continue to fight to get this project up and running and support those doing the work.

Highbury Councillor Clare Body says;- "We recently challenged the Council to confirm that the funding problem brought about by their management had been resolved and were assured that it had been.We were also told that the current end date of March 2014 is still in place and my fellow Hitchin Councillors will be fighting to ensure this is delivered."
