1 Jan 2005

On Saturday 6TH November, Baroness Williams of Crosby was guest speaker at Hitchin and Harpenden Liberal Democrats' annual dinner, held at the Thistle Hotel, Little Wymondley. Shirley Williams, formerly a Labour MP for Hitchin, spoke to an audience of over seventy people.

Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Hannah Hedges, who invited Shirley Williams said: 'I was delighted that Shirley could attend our annual dinner.

Not only is she a local political hero. But her achievements to date, in particular co-founding the Social Democratic Party as one of the "Gang of Four", mark her out as one of the most inspiring politicians of our time.'
