Lib Dems select Peter Wilkins as candidate for Manor Ward by-election
Stevenage Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce that Peter Wilkins is the Liberal Democrat candidate in the upcoming by-election for Manor Ward. The by-election was caused by the sad death of our much-loved and long-standing Borough Councillor, Graham Snell, in November.
Peter has a background in social housing and is a building surveyor. He has lived in the area for over 30 years and is a keen supporter of Stevenage Football Club. He’s been an active member of the Lib Dem team for some years and is now enthusiastically working on the campaign, engaging with people in streets and on doorsteps, and already working on people’s problems.
Peter Wilkins says “I’m committed to carrying on the long legacy of the local Lib Dems being effective community advocates – listening to and sticking up for everyone in Manor Ward. If elected, I will be joining Robin Parker and Andy McGuinness, two dedicated, long-standing Lib Dem Councillors who work hard all year round for local residents.”
“Talking to local people on the doorstep, they tell me that the local Lib Dems have represented the area very well for over 40 years and are keen for this to continue, so I’m very pleased to be getting lots of support.”
Peter is an outstanding candidate who is hard-working and conscientious and will be an extremely effective councillor who will take the concerns of local people to heart and do his very best to solve their problems.
The by-election will take place in Manor Ward on Thursday 13 February.
